The Rev. Phillip J. Harris began his ministry at St. Philip's on July 6, 2003. He served as Deacon In-charge until his ordination as Priest on All Saints' Day, Nov. 1, 2003.
Harris received an M. Div. degree in May 2003 from Virginia Theological Seminary. While in seminary, he served as Student Body President and representative to the Board of Trustees along with work on the seminary Worship Committee. He worked as a seminarian at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Arlington, Virginia; St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Alexandria, Virginia and as a summer intern at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Greenville, North Carolina.
Harris holds a B.S. degree in Communication and prior to seminary worked in advertising and with The Department of Human Services.
Fr. Harris currently serves as Dean of The Scioto River Valley Deanery, as a member of both the Diocesan Commission on Liturgy and Music and the Professional Development Committee.
